Patricia specializes in individualizing care to your needs and have over 36 years of health care experience in multiple specialties. She is passionate about helping people achieve an exceptional life by teaching them how to apply both nonpharmacological skills and best practices for utilizing psychiatric medications.  To effectively move through the difficulties life throws at us, it takes a wide variety of tools, individualized to meet our personal situation.

She has successfully used an eclectic variety of methods that empower personal growth, bring back the strength needed to meet the demands in our lives, move people away from suffering and towards a higher level of wellbeing.  All this is achieved through techniques that expand consciousness and awareness, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical tolerance distress tools, stress management, assertiveness skills, experiential learning, mindfulness cognitive therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, clinical hypnotherapy-positive psychology concepts, and the use of prescription psychiatric medications.

She earned a master’s degree from University of Colorado to practice as a family nurse practitioner while working as a public health nurse on the Dina’s Reservation in Northern Arizona.  She earned the Navajo Area Exceptional Performance Award for designing a community diabetes program.  While working in forensic psychiatry in the Colorado Corrections system, she completed a post-master’s certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She is also certified as a geriatric nurse practitioner and has worked with older adults in the Eastern Colorado Veterans Health Care System. She is currently working on creating pilot on-line courses designed to help people manage stress and anxiety when medications can’t do it all.
